Presidents Message
It seemed like a long summer, full of change and anticipation for another season of Dutchmen hockey. The ownership group has been working hard to bring new direction to our on ice product while maintaining stability with our business model.
On the management side we were able to promote from within and move Bryan Stevens into the General Manager’s role. On the coaching side there were wholesale changes, we are proud to have brought Todd Hoffman on board as Head Coach and Assistant General Manager with Matt Desmueles and Adam DeJong, an esteemed former player, as Assistant Coaches. Goalie Coach Jeff Johnston returns for another season. On theplayer front we were hurt by the loss of many veterans to age, school and the ever-unpopular player to be named later! Staff was busy recruiting and in spite of the loss of 13 players from last year’s team, we are happy to have balanced the team with a combination of rookies, veteran recruits and the 7 returning players. We are encouraged by the professionalism and dedication of both our coaching staff and the players and look forward to a successful season on and off the ice.
To the players, welcome, and congratulations on your present and future successes. Hopefully this opportunity is a memorable time in your hockey careers, one that provides you with more skills and experience to foster your talent and extend your achievements.
For an organization to function a great deal of financial support is needed, to which we offer our heartfelt thanks to our many sponsors. The hopes and satisfaction of the players who are fortunate enough to participate at this level of hockey could not be realized without your assistance. We encourage our fans and supporters to patronize our sponsors and take advantage of the products and services they provide.
To the fans and supporters, we thank you for your continued support and hope to give you a memorable 2009-2010 season that demonstrates the capabilities of a team working to push itself to even greater accomplishments.
You may notice our new logo throughout the rink and in this website. We are phasing in the new look and hope to complete the transition during the season. Please take some time to look at new line of souvenir clothing and give it a try.
Thanks again for your support of the Kitchener Dutchmen Hockey Club.
